Our zafu is a round traditional meditation cushion with pleated sides. The cover is made of durable cotton twill fabric. We hand stuff our zafus with natural kapok so that they will not collapse after a few sittings. All our zafus are double-stitched for extra strength and come with a carrying handle. Each zafu is approximately 15" in diameter and 9" in height and 4.5 lbs in weight.

I'm 6'5" and have been looking for a taller Zafu for quite a while. The large kapok zafu is perfect: tall & firm giving my legs plenty of space to stretch out.
Additionally, I cannot give more positive feedback to the customer service I received through zafustore.com. The responsiveness and willingness to help throughout the order process blew me away. I'll enthusiastically be recommending zafustore.com to all my friends in the market for meditation products.

As a 6'6" man with arthritic legs sitting on improvised cushions was difficult.
This cushion is taller than many competing products from other sources and is really, truly packed.
Teamed up with the Zafu Store's Jumbo zabuton you will be well served if you are a larger, taller person!

I'm 5'9" and my legs are as long as my father, oldest brother and husband who are all 6' tall. (My inseam is 32" on jeans--for those for whom numbers like that help.)
I used a buckwheat hull-filled zafu for many years but developed auto-immune disease(s) which include painful joints throughout my body, and I could no longer easily move the heavier zafu, or sit for any length of time in comfort as I once could, Japanese-style on a zafu (forget a bench!), so when I saw another review by someone with 'dodgy knees' who was also tall, I decided 2 try this:
Lightweight enough 2 carry easily; high (loft) so when I sat down, I felt no knee or thigh pain, & my back automatically went into straight-back posture.
I'll use this a lot, & 10-years of seating meditation tells me the seams should have 'even' more reinforcement, but hey, nothing is perfect. For the price, and my needs (or anyone w/similar problems), this is a great zafu.
(Oh, practical details: Excellent communication; safe(boxed) packing w/plastic covering the zafu; shipped fast).
P.S. If anyone knows of a cover that would fit this & is washable, I'd love to know about it!

Thank you for a wonderful product. I received my large kapok zafu today and it has already proved beneficial. I immediately noticed lessening of back pain and easing of knee pressure when in seiza. My deep gratitude for developing this product and keeping it affordable.

I am an old man who has been meditating for 30 years, but mainly in a chair. I decided to buy this after trying a similar cushion in a meditation center recently.
So far I am very happy with this large zafu. I am 6"0" tall, 190 lbs.
The cushion is firm, but very comfortable. They sure did not skimp on the kapok filler - very full. Over a 30 minute period the posterior does not hurt at all. Also, no back pain.
It is easy to make slight adjustments to slightly change your posture.
I think that the cushion may be causing me to be more alert during meditation (as compared to sitting in a chair).
The quality seems good with seemingly durable material and sewing.
There is a an opening (under the handle) which allows removal of kapok if required. But I like it as is.
